A STRANRAER woman has become one of the first DGHP tenants to sign up to the UK’s leading mutual exchange service, HomeSwapper.
Lisa Brown has signed up to the scheme, which is free to Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership tenants, as she is looking for a mutual exchange for her home.
Lisa currently lives in a two-bedroom house in the newly-built area of Birch Way in Stranraer and would like to exchange it for a three-bedroom flat or house within the town. Lisa and her family are hoping to find their match on Homeswapper as more people sign up.
The online service means tenants who are looking for a swap either locally, or nationally, can go online and add their property, with pictures as well, and they can state what they would like in exchange. The system then matches their property with any others that may already be online, if the criteria set out match.
More than 100 tenants have already signed up to the online service, in the first four weeks alone.
Jacqueline Power, Housing Services Manager at DGHP, said: “By partnering with HomeSwapper we are offering our tenants a free service which provides choice and mobility for those looking to swap homes. Our aim is to improve customer satisfaction with this additional value for money service.”
Martin Brown, Head of Housing Management, added: “This is an excellent service for our tenants and I really hope many more sign up to it. It is a completely free service for our tenants and it is excellent for those looking for a mutual exchange.”
