The first Stranraer fireworks and bonfire event for many years took place amid torrential rain on Saturday.
But the downpours didn’t put crowds off or dampen the flames, as townsfolk turned out to join in the parade through the streets and watch the sky light up.
Music from local artist Scope livened up the town and the puddles on the ground only gave the kids something else to play with.
Chairman of the Stranraer and District Community Fireworks Display crew, Gavin Church, praised teh community for their efforts.
He said: “All feedback so far has been positive but we’re not going to be big-headed about it - we know there are improvements to be made and we’re already thinking about how we can move forward for next year’s display.”
