Serious accident appeal goes out across region

POLICE are appealing for witnesses who may have been using the B729 near Annan on Thursday following a serious road traffic collision 8.30am.

The collision happened at Wallaceton near Dunscore and involved a silver coloured Kia Carens being driven by a local male aged 32 years old and a blue coloured Toyota Avensis being driven by a local female aged 56 years old.

Both drivers sustained serious injuries in the collision and were taken to DGRI to receive treatment on their injuries. The female was later transferred to Southern General Hospital in Glasgow to receive further treatment. The condition of both drivers is currently described as serious but stable.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident or anyone who seen either vehicle prior to the collision.
