Rural Affairs Minister to meet dairy farmers

Galloway dairy farmers will get the chance to put their case for an increase in milk prices when Rural Affairs Minister Richard Lochhead visits the region this weekend.

Today he will visit the Rhins of Galloway holiday home development, Kirkbride Farm, Port Logan; Bladnoch Distillery; Sco-Fro Seafood, Minnigaff; and the Galloway Fisheries Trust project near Gatehouse of Fleet to find out more about the local food and drink, tourism and biodiversity.

Mr Lochhead will conclude his tour by holding talks with the local dairy farmers tomorrow at Dumfries Show.
