Rise in visitors to Threave Castle

Historic Scotland’s Threave Castle at Castle Douglas saw a rise of 33% in visitors last year according to the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions 2014 Annual Visitor Trend Report.

Other attractions across Dumfries and Galloway also enjoyed a significant rise in visitors to their sites including Threave Estate, Dundrennan Abbey, Kirroughtree Visitor Centre, Glenluce Abbey, Broughton House and Garden and Logan Botanic Gardens.

Regional Director, Paula McDonald, said; “In 2015, we will build on the energy and excitement of last year, using strengths such as our region’s food and drink and quality visitor experiences to take us to the world and enhance our reputation.”
