Record sum for Relay walkers

A split-second of silence filled the air at 11am on Sunday as the 600-strong crowd gathered at Bladnoch Park took in how much they’d raised for Cancer Research UK.

For the weary walkers who had trekked through the night in aid of the charity were informed they’d broken a ‘per population’ record by bringing in £83,477. Tears, screams and disbelief ensued before celebrations began.
