Reasons to be ‘chairful’!

A song and a smile!

Whithorn Primary School and Parent Council recently wel-
comed its first official storyteller to its fabulous Storyteller’s Chair in the recently completed Community Hub when Renita Boyle kindly visited.

As a result, £80 was raised for the 500 Project, which helps children in Africa. Renita sang, danced and entertained everyone at school and – nursery to P3 pupils helped pull out an enormous turnip while P4-7 left feeling ohhh so funky! Even the school’s head teacher, Mr Hughes, sang!

The school stated it looks forward to seeing future storytellers visit and enjoy using
the hub to entertain the children and teachers. Renita was delighted to have been the inaugural storyteller and had admired the beautiful handcrafted chair when she had seen photographs of it when the Community Hub was opening in July. The pupil
council organised the donations
to charity and the parent council organised Renita’s visit.

Everyone had a great time and – best of all – the sun shone!
