Pupils from St Ninian’s Primary School in Newton Stewart recently took a trip to see the snowdrops at Craichlaw House, Kirkcowan.

For the first time this year, the gardens are open to the public, by prior arrangement with the owners, as part of the nationwide Snowdrop Festival, which runs from 1st February to 16th March, organised by Scotland’s Gardens with all proceeds going to selected charities.

The gardens at Craichlaw are in fact open throughout the year by arrangement through the Scotland’s Gardens scheme, further details can be obtained at their website www.scotlandsgardens.org or from the owners, Mary and Andrew Gladstone on 01671 830208.
