IT was officially confirmed this week that, for the first time ever, Royalty will attend this year’s Wigtown Show.
The announcement from Buckingham Palace on Wednesday read: “The Princess Royal will visit Wigtown Agricultural Show to mark the 200th Anniversary of Wigtownshire Agricultural Society at Bladnoch Park, Wigtown.”
The exciting news of Princess Anne’s appearance had been confidentally shared with the members at the Society’s Bi-centenary lunch in the County Buildings, Wigtown, last Saturday by show chairman Iain McFadzean.
After the formal announcement, Iain told The Galloway Gazette: “It is great news for the show. This is the first time was have had Royalty so we are expecting plenty of people to turn out on show day to see the Princess.”
