Preparations for Joint Warrior underway

LOW level activity has started in the area in preparation for the Joint Warrior military exercise due to begin in April.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence said: “The Joint Warrior exercise will involve mainly the RAF and the Navy. The exercise will be co-ordinated from Faslane and will take place up the west coast of Scotland and involve 50 ships.

“The 16 Air Assault Brigade will also be involved at the end of April and they will be based at West Freugh. Some low level activity is going on just now ahead of the exercise.”
