The Post Office is proposing to move Kirkcolm Post Office, which is currently located in the village hall to Kirkcolm Stores – just yards away.
The branch has been temporarily closed since November 2011 but can now re-open. Under the plans, the branch would operate from 2pm to 5pm on Tuesdays and from 9am to 12 noon on Thursdays, and would offer the same services as offered previously.
A Post Office spokesperson said: ”Before plans are finalised, the Post Office is tomorrow (Wednesday August 6th) beginning a six-week public consultation in which customers can give their views on the proposals. This public consultation will end on September 18th.

“The date of the proposed move is as yet not set but, pending the completion of the public consultation, there will be further updates as to specifics of the plans. Details of the proposed service can be found below.”
