Police Scotland will host a recruitment awareness evening tonight at the Douglas Ewart High School, Corsbie Road Newton Stewart DG8 6JQ.

This event is open to anyone who is approaching 18 years of age or older and is interested in joining the organisation either as a Special Constable or as a Police Officer. The evening will run from 1830 until 2100 and any person attending should go to the main entrance of the high school.

There will be inputs on the night from Police Officers and Special Constables who will share their experiences of working within the organisation. There will be an opportunity to take part in a debate session similar to one that is part of the application process. There will also be an opportunity to take part in the fitness test and those who wish to do so should bring suitable clothing and footwear.

The evening will give potential applicants the chance to learn more about the application process, entrance exams, interview stages and the fitness test.

At the end of the evening there will be an opportunity to ask the speakers questions.
