Police appeal

Police officers in Stranraer are investigating an assault on a 49-year-old man in the Back Rampart in Stranraer by two men.

The assault took place at around 1350 hours on Sunday, October 18 and the victim received a cut to the head which was treated at the Galloway Community Hospital. The men police want to trace are described as (1) 32/33 years of age, about 5’ 11” tall, well built, short hair, wearing a dark blue hooded top, denims, Nike trainers and a baseball cap, and (2) 28/29 years with short brown hair, not further described.

Detective Constable Keith Kennedy said: “We want to hear from anyone who was in the area of the Back Rampart around this time and saw anything which might help us identify these two men.

Police in Castle Douglas are investigating the theft of a green coloured Claas tractor from Gordon’s Yard, Castle Douglas, between Friday 16 October 2015 and the morning of Sunday 18 October 2015. The tractor has been recovered, although it is likely to have been driven around the town during the above times.

Constable Nicola Robinson at Castle Douglas said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen this tractor being driven around the Castle Douglas area on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Anyone with information regarding these incidents can contact police on 101.”
