PPenninghame Primary School’s P5 and P6 pupils completed their Jump Rope for Heart event last Friday.

the aim was to skip for 90 minutes in a variety of different ways and raise money for the British Heart Founadtion. They were outside with music blaring around the playground with a playlist compiled by the children for their warm-up routines, designed by them, to teach the other 60 children.

Primary 5 devised a plan to keep everyone engaged with challenges to complete around the school grounds. Niamh McCarthy lasted the longest in the marathon skip with five minutes 35 seconds.

Nicola Frame got the most skips in a minute with 196. And Ryan Kirkpatrick could travel and skip at the quickest rate with just over 10 seconds. The children all had a great afternoon and have so far raised over £800 with more to come.

The school would like to thank everyone for their effort and any sponsor money.
