WIGTOWNSHIRE’S pair of breeding ospreys, male EP and female H/D, successfully hatched two chicks this week.

The first chick hatched in the teeth of a gale on Monday and the following morning a second chick appeared out of its shell. Both mother and babies doing fine with the chicks getting trout for breakfast.

The wildlife wardens who keep an eye on the secret nest are now hoping a third chick will hatch soon.
