One Show presenter Matt Baker along with ‘Team Rickshaw’ enjoyed a brief stop in the Port of Cairnryan on Friday 8th November as day one of the show’s eight-day relay Rickshaw Challenge for BBC Children in Need was drawing to a close.

Welcoming Matt Baker and Alex Jones from the BBC One Show at the P&O Ferries terminal were boys from the Company and Junior section of the 3rd Stranraer Boys Brigade led by Captain David Alison.

Following the fabulous welcome, ‘Team Rickshaw’ will now continue the Challenge through Scotland, west of England and into Wales, finishing at BBC’s Elstree Studios live on the BBC Children in Need Appeal Night on Friday 15th November.

Alex Jones is leading the eight-day relay challenge and has been joined by five young people and their parents who’ve previously been supported by the charity. They will ride in a rickshaw approximately 700 miles across all four nations, in a bid to raise as much money as possible to help disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.

To support the challenge, and donate £5, text TEAM to 7070. Texts cost £5 plus 1 standard rate message.

£5 will go to BBC Children in Need. Go to www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey for full T&Cs. You must be over 16 and ask the bill payer’s permission.
