Lorna Henry has completed the New York Marathon in a very impressive time in memory of her brother.

Lorna, from Kirkinner, finished the run in 4 hours and 47 minutes and has so far managed to raise a whopping £1405 for The Galloway Mountain Rescue.

Her brother, Paul Henry sadly passed away during his descent of Goat’s Fell on the Isle of Arran in 2012.

Lorna said: “The atmosphere, organisation and people of New York were absolutely amazing.

“Unfortunately for my fellow team mates and I we suffered from food poisoning during our trip but we all managed to complete the run and I am extremely proud of their efforts.

“It was the most inspiring and memorable journey of my life but to do it in my brothers honour was the most rewarding thing of all.”

Lorna’s page will be open for donations until the end of December so there is still time to contribute donations.
