‘Mud’ warning to car owner

A CAR parked in Cairnryan was smeared with mud and a had a note left on it warning the owner that he had parked in an area not designated for overnight parking.

Inspector David McCallum said this week that the car was left in the village’s North Car Park on Tuesday night.

It is believed the incident came about following anger amongst locals at ferry staff and passengers using the village’s car parking spaces to avoid paying parking fees at the new Stena terminal nearby.

The Inspector said: “I put this at the door of the community of Cairnryan and we won’t stand for this type of vandalism.”
