Galloway MSP Alex Fergusson has tabled a motion at the Scottish Parliament highlighting the success of local entrepreneur Alistair Taylor, from New Luce, at the recent DIY Week Awards held in Manchester.
Speaking after LadderLimb had won the Gold Award for Hand Tool of the Year, Mr Fergusson said: “This is a truly remarkable achievement. Not only has this simple but hugely effective inven- tion won national recognition through this award, but it beat two well known multi-national companies in Irwin Tools and Stanley to do so. LadderLimb is a wonderfully simple and innovative product which will make life considerably safer for anyone who has to work up a ladder, and it only goes to prove the old adage that the best ideas are often the simplest.
“I have no doubt that LadderLimb has the potential to be a world beater, and I look forward to watching the progress of this excellent local initiative over the coming years.
“Given the enormous success that has been achieved through this award, it seemed only right to table a parliamentary motion to highlight the recognition that the award brings with it, and I am only too happy to have done so.”
