Dumfries and Galloway MP Russell Brown spent Friday afternoon answering the questions of Modern Studies students at Castle Douglas High School.

Mr Brown had a question and answer session with the higher and S4 modern studies students of Castle Douglas High School regarding his work as a MP.

A number of aspects of Mr Brown’s work were touched upon including his work both in the region and in London.

Commenting on the session, the MP said: “I always welcome the opportunity to talk to local young people about my work and politics in general. There is no getting away from the fact that most young people are not as interested in politics as they should be and part of the problem is they are not always sure what we politicians actually do and how it is relevant to their lives. It was good to have the opportunity to explain to students what I do on their behalves. The students were really engaged and asked some good thoughtful questions. I wish all of them the best of luck with their studies.”
