A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital with neck injuries after coming off his bike on the New Galloway Road.
At around 1pm on Saturday, the A712 saw the 46-year old biker come off his Suzuki JSX 1400 at a corner by The Queen’s Way. Ambulance crews attended but determined that the injuries of the rider, from Ballymena in Northern Ireland, were too severe for them to treat. An air ambulance was called which flew him to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he was found to have suffered neck and pelvis injuries as well as fractures to his femur and arm. He had also been unconcious but came too as paramedics dealt with him.
He was part of a group of around 15 bikers using the road, and came off his bike alone with no other party involved.
