The Moonlight Meander will take place on Friday, June 1, and will start from the Crown Hotel at 10pm. The walk will last around three miles and participants can do it at their own pace.

The start time represents when local Marie Curie nurses arrive at patients’ homes for a nine-hour overnight shift to provide free high quality nursing care and emotional support to a terminally ill people and their families.

“Marie Curie nurses provide our free nursing service to all patients with any terminal illness.”

Shirley McCleary, a local fundraiser, added: “This is our second year of holding this event after a successful first walk and we hope more local people sign up to take part and collect sponsorship to support our local Marie Curie nursing service.”
