EXPERT flower arranger and Galloway farmer’s wife Moira Graham is heading off this weekend to demonstrate her skills at the horticultural Olympics that is the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Moira, who lives at Irelandton Farm, Twynholm, is part of an eight-strong team from Scotland travelling to London to represent SAFA, the Scottish Association of Flower Arrangers.

Recently she spoke to the Galloway Gazette about how thrilling it will be to be part of the most famous flower festival on earth.

She said: “It’s very exciting especially as this is the 100th Chelsea Flower Show. There are eight of us going down as flower arrangers and one as our caterer and assistant.

“Each year one of the 21 areas in Britain that are members of NAFA (National Association of Flower Arrangers) gets to go to the Chelsea Flower Show and this year it’s Scotland’s turn.”

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show runs from May 21 to 25.
