A GLENTROOL couple were recently invited to play in a parting show to honour the retirement of a singing legend.

Jim and Francie Bainbridge were asked along to the Auctermuchty Festival which had been chosen as the final venue for Scottish traditional singer Sheila Stewart before she retires from the music scene after 60 years.

Sheila is a well-known both locally and nationally and decided to hang up her hat at the Fife festival following a globe-trotting career taking traditional music to far and away places.

Jim, who plays the melodeon and sings, along with his sister Kathy and wife reformed their 1960s group, The Marsden Rattlers Band, for the occasion.
