A man who threatened to harm himself after his marriage broke up appeared at the sheriff court in Stranraer this week.
Thirty-seven-year-old Robert Watson, of 22 Antrim Avenue, Stranraer, admitted behaving in a threatening manner in Hanover Square car park by uttering threats of self-harm and challenging others to fight. Procurator Fiscal Depute Kay Christie told the court that the accused and his wife had separated 18 months ago and, that night, she had gone out with friends to the pub.
But she was alarmed to receive texts from Watson telling her he knew she was not at home as he was in her property, even though he did not have a key.
He then sent a text saying he would harm himself, followed by a picture of him with tablets. A friend agreed to meet the accused at the car park, but, when Watson arrived, he was in an agitated state and police were called. He returns to court for sentencing on November 27.
