Man lost his temper in pub

Falling out with his girlfriend in a Stranraer nightclub
landed a Muirkirk man with an appearance at the town’s sheriff court on Wednesday.

Dax McClatchie, 39, admitted behaving in a threatening manner at the Bar Pazzerello in George Street, acting in an aggressive manner, shouting, swearing and challenging
another man to a fight on January 26 this year.

Procurator fiscal depute Paula Forbes said the accused
and his girlfriend had been out drinking in the town. In the Bar Pazz, McClatchie’s girlfriend had bumped into a family friend and become detached from the rest of the party. Later, she noticed two missed calls from the accused on her phone. She joined him in the main bar but an argument started. The accused was told by security staff to calm down but he had lost his temper by then.

Defending, Paul Feeney said there had been a misunderstanding between McClatchie and the complainer after he thought his girlfriend was trying to avoid him.

Sheriff M M Wood deferred sentence for six months, telling McClatchie: “You should have walked away when told by the steward.”
