Man cleared of knife attack

A man who went on trial for an alleged knife crime was found not guilty at Stranraer Sheriff Court on Monday.

Thirty-seven-year-old Brian Henry, a prisoner in Dumfries, had been charged with assaulting Damian Westran and June Westran in the stairwell of 12-18 Millhill Street, Stranraer, on January 23 when presenting a knife at them and grabbing June Westran, causing her to strike her head against a door, then pushing her, resulting in her falling down the stairs.
