A student from Port William caused a stir recently after capturing a strange image in an Edinburgh graveyard.

Sheena Severn, a mature photography student at West Lothian College, visited the famous Greyfriar’s Cemetery in the capital with some fellow students to take a few snaps on their digital cameras before the sun went down.

As they were preparing to leave, she took her final few photos and they headed home.

But when she brought two of the photos up on her screen for closuer inspection, she saw a black mass on them which could be seen in a slightly different position on the second of the two, which had been taken immediately after one another.

Sheena said: “They have been independently checked to confirm that no manipulation has been done and both my lecturers at college are stumped as to what it can be. I gave the photos to Haunted Scotland to publish online and their website actually crashed two days in a row due to high interest.”

The video with the photos can be found on YouTube by searching ‘Greyfriar’s ghost caught on film’.
