A Minnigaff lad has raised £328.85 for the Alexandria Unit Endowment Fund at Dumfries Infirmary by rolling his Easter egg in a more challenging way than normal.
Robbie Thomson, 18, decided to climb to the top of Cairnsmore on Easter Sunday to roll the egg and raise cash in memory of his nana, Sheila McNaught, who lost her battle with cancer almost two years ago. Robbie’s parents, Ian and Aileen, joined him on his first ever climb up the hill. The yonungster’s grandad, John McNaught, said: “We are all very proud of Robbie as this was his own idea. He is a quiet lad but obviously has been thinking about the passing of his nana and wanted to do his bit to help fight cancer. When I asked him why he was doing it he told me that he wanted to help get rid of that terrible disease and all I can say is well done Robbie.”
