Trial date for Wendy Kelly death case

A NEWTON Stewart man accused of culpable homicide following the death of his girlfriend in 2010 will stand trial next month.

Alan Hedley, 44, is due before Glasgow High Court on 13 February. He was charged following a lengthy investigation into the unexplained death of Miss Kelly, then aged 32, who was found unconscious and unresponsive at a house on York Road on 17 May 2010. She was taken by ambulance to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary where she died later that day.

The cause of death was attributed to a head injury.
