The council also approved funding for a 3G pitch at St Mary’s Park, Kirkcudbright, the home of St Cuthbert Wanderers.

Saints manager Jim McCrossan said: “We’re still waiting for  details and we just know that one is being built here. It’s great news for the South of Scotland community. Fair play to the councillors, as these pitches are badly needed.”
