Thanks have gone out to motorists using the A75 at Ringford recently who were disrupted due to major roadworks.
Barr Surfacing and Civil Engineering, and Scotland TranServ on behalf of Transport Scotland said the £1.2million works had finished ahead of scheduled and praised the patience of motorists.
The resurfacing, barrier works, kerbing and white lining required a traffic light and slow convoy system for a week.
Russell Rennie, Scotland TranServ’s Contract Director said: “Dumfries and Galloway is the gateway to Scotland, and ahead of this Year of Homecoming, the Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup it will be the first stop for thousands of tourists heading to the South West Region.
“We want to leave a valuable first impression on these visitors, but most importantly we want to leave a lasting legacy of an improved trunk roads network for local drivers and regular freight traffic users for many years ahead.”
The team took time out for Armed Forces Day.
