Teenager admits trio of offences

A TEENAGER with alcohol problems will be sentenced at the end of the month after admitting three offences when appearing from custody this week at Stranraer Sheriff Court.

Nineteen-year-old John McShane, of Palgowan Farm Cottage, Bargrennan, pleaded guilty to kicking the wing mirrors of two cars in Queen Street, Newton Stewart, on Friday night; and shouting, swearing and repeatedly striking the inside rear window of a police vehicle the same night; and then being found in possession of cannabis at the charge bar of Newton Stewart Police Station on July 1.

Defending, solicitor Jocelyn Aitken said that the accused had “alcohol issues and problems”.

Sheriff Kenneth Robb deferred the case until July 31 for background reports on McShane.
