Stranraer butcher welcomes Burns season’s first haggis

A Stranraer butcher helping to champion the Year of the Haggis has taken delivery of the town’s first Burns season supplies.

Stuart Jack was presented with a certificate of participation in Year of the Haggis by Eric Archibald, a member of the Robert Burns World Federation, and Murray Irving, president of the Stranraer and District Burns Club. as the Scottish dish arrived in the Bridge Street shop on Tuesday.

The Robert Burns World Federation have designated 2014 as the Year of the Haggis and the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders (SFMTA) will partner this revered Federation to promote haggis in the 440 shops in their membership across Scotland.
