Friday sees the 2014 Wickerman Festival kick-off near Dundrennan and one of the final acts to be announced is none other than our very own Creetown Silver Band.
In the Lowland Links tent, staged by Wickerman Festival as part of Year of Homecoming to showcase the culture of the Dumfries and Galloway area, fans can hear the rousing sounds of the popular band.
They join big names such as Dizzee Rascal, Martha Reeves, Del Amitri, Shed Seven and The Feeling on this year’s bill.
As well as this, fans can catch British Sea Power on the main stage. The indie rockers, once described by The Sunday Times as ‘The best band in Britain’, have stormed into the Summerisle’s Saturday bill, joining Del Amitri and The Feeling.
It’s over a decade since British Sea Power launched their debut album, ‘The Decline of British Sea Power’ to huge critical acclaim. Their indie credentials have not waned, and last year’s 2013 album ‘Machineries of Joy’ was hailed as a creative high for the band.
The 10-stage festival is now in its 13th consecutive year and had a record crowd last year with tickets selling out before the event.
