THE Riverbank restaurant in  Newton Stewart is on the market as a going concern.

Owner Kenny Dawson, who has run the cafe for the past 10 years, has decided to take things a bit easier.

He said: “It’s now time to move on and try something different. I have a full army pension so there is no need to be working six days a week but I will be staying in the area.

“The Riverbank is a very successful business with good  local trade. There is the shop  downstairs as well, the hairdresser’s, which is on a 10-year  lease. There is also accommodation available if required. Anyone can check us out on Tripadvisor.

“As an ex-engineer, I knew very little when I came into this game but I have really enjoyed it.”

The property is for sale at offers in the region of £245,000.
