Parking on double yellow lines is an example of anti- social driving says Constable David McDowall

Police Scotland’s Operation Drifter is currently underway targeting anti-social driving in Dumfries and Galloway.

The police want to target a number of motoring issues such as anti social driving behaviour, excessive revving, loud exhausts, use of horns in early hours and bad habits like illegal parking.

Spearheading the campaign in Newton Stewart and the Machars, which runs until September 22, is Constable David McDowall.

The officer told The Galloway Gazette that so far there had been a good response form the public to Operation Drifter and he encouraged any members of the public who witness anti-social driving to get in touch with the police.

There will be further update from Constable McDowall when the operation concludes.
