Police probe baby’s death

Police are still investigating the death of a baby in Dumfries.

The force confirmed it is carrying out inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the unexplained death of the 15-week-old infant, named as Zaiidyn Burke, from Sunderries Avenue in Dumfries.

The baby boy was admitted to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary on Saturday afternoon and was later transferred to the Yorkhill Children’s Hospital in Glasgow where he died on Monday

The procurator fiscal has been informed of the death and a post mortem examination has been carried out but failed to establish the cause of death.
