Pensioner charged with three rapes

A NEWTON Stewart man has appeared in private at Stranraer Sheriff Court charged with three cases of rape, seven cases of assault and one of assault and sodomy.

William Wood, 70, was released on bail after making no plea or decalaration when he appeared before Sheriff Kenneth Robb on Monday.
