Paul was nominated by the Newton Stewart Community Support Team for his valuable work in the community

Paul said: “This is a great honour and I am looking forward to it. I don’t know which part of the town I shall be carrying the Queen’s Baton through yet, I’m just waiting to hear what the route will be.”

The Queen’s Baton Relay will pass through Galloway on Thursday, June 19, travelling west from Castle Douglas through Kirkcudbright, Newton Stewart and Stranraer on it’s way to the start of the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony in Glasgow on July 23.
