The Galloway Pageant has a new chairman after existing leader Diann Hughes resigned this week.
Diann, who was entering her fourth year at the helm, took the decision to step down for a variety of reasons and vice chairman Colin Faulds has assumed the role of chairman.
Colin has held this role in the past and has also welcomed Linda Wood into the role of vice chairman, Janette Faulds as treasurer and Robert Malcolm as secretary.
The pageant has struggled for support from the community and was only saved by a handful of people following crunch talks last month.
And the new committee have once again appealed for volunteers to come forward and help during both the fun day on Sunday, July 20 and three-day pageant later that week (July 24–26).
Anyone who wishes to help or to enter a lorry in this year’s parade, which has an open theme, is asked to contact any of the committee.
