Southwest Smile Care, are really pleased to announce a very welcome addition to their Newton Stewart practice Dr Lawrence Smith BDS a Yorkshire lad hailing from Holmfirth - home of ‘Last of the Summer Wine’.
Lawrence will be relocating to the town and taking up his new position on September 2.
He said: “I was born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire and I’m the youngest of three brothers. I went to school and sixth form in the nearby city of Wakefield. Once finishing school and my A-levels I got accepted by Cardiff University to study dentistry. Over the last 15 years I’ve represented my school and University at rugby in several leagues and cups. I also enjoy playing golf, keeping fit and going on bike rides. I am excited to start work with South West Smile Care Centre and look forward to meeting you all.”
Lawrence previously spent time in Ghana providing dental services to disadvantaged communities. His previous posts have included operating in minor oral surgery, treating anxious patients under sedation and providing care to special needs patients.
Lawrence, being the outdoors type will feel at home in Newton Stewart as his hobbies range from rugby, golf and mountain biking to drawing and painting.
