A memorial bench in memory of Newton Stewart teenager Kieran Currie, who lost his life in a tragic accident last year, was unveiled in Newton Stewart last weekend.

Lachlan Bartlett collected the money kindly donated by Newton Stewart residents for the bench and Roger Docherty from Wigtown donated his time constructing the bench. Alex Love from Minnigaff gave both his time and the materials to make the base.

The bench was erected and unveiled in a short but poignant ceremony on Saturday, January 11, two days before what would have been Kieran’s 20th birthday.

Lachlan, Lynsay (Kieran’s mum) and Kirsten (Kieran’s sister) would like to thank all those who generously donated or helped in the making of Kieran’s memorial bench.
