Lions Club

On Tuesday 3rd July the members of the Machars Lions Club held a members social night in the Monreith Arms Hotel. This was to mark the change of Club President from Lion Annie Murray to Lion Ian Mason. This will be Lion Ian's first time as club pesident. The members wish him every success. Machars Lions would like to thank all who played in the recent Charity Golf Match at St Medan and thank all sponsors.

The total raised for the good causes fund was 1100. This will be split between several good causes at the next business meeting. The Lions have had a busy few weeks. Prize Bingo sessions have been held all over the area raisng funds for various needs.

The club has made donations to Primary Schools for summer trips and to other groups. Lions have attended several events such as the Car Rally in Stranraer and have been asked to attend other events.

We will again be having a stall at Wigtown Show and the members have been asked to sell the programmes for the show on the day.

So if you attend the show look for our stall. The Lions continue to run Cash Bingo in Whithorn on Fridays 8pm New Town Hall and in Port Willam on Mondays 7.30pm Maxwell Hall. No membership is required and money raised is for good causes in the area.
