Isle of Whithorn toilets in for revamp

NO objections have been received to plans by community development group Isle Futures to redevelop the current public toilet building at the Isle of Whithorn.

The planning application will be heard by councillors next week and will outline proposals to demolish the toilet block at St Ninian’s Hall and replace it with an annexe to the hall incorporating a ground floor information desk, toilets, office, shop, cafe, kitchen and servery, storage areas, part first floor office and store and the installation of solar panels and two air source heat pumps. An outside seating area is also sought.

The plans will be decided at next Wednesday’s planning meeting in Dumfries.
