Have you seen Smokey?

A broken-hearted family in Glenluce desperately searching for their missing puppy are appealing for Galloway Gazette readers help.

The McConnell family believe Smokey, their female Jack Russell pup, was stolen on Saturday, January 21 between 2.30pm and 3pm.

Owner Sheila McConnell had been out walking Smokey and left her playing in the garden on her return home. But when she returned five minutes later to bring Smokey into the house, there was no sign of her. Out of the corner of her eye, Sheila she saw a black vehicle pulling away from the entrance to her home and other witnesses also recall seeing a vehicle of that description in the area. She assumes that vehicle had something to do with Smokey’s sudden disappearance.

The family have had unconfirmed sightings of a small Jack Russell in Girvan and would like to trace the dog to make sure it’s not Smokey.

Sheila told the Gazette: “We are all absolutely heartbroken. Smokey was part of the family and my grandchildren, who came to play with her every day, are devastated.”

There is reward for Smokey’s safe return and her details have been registered with the police and the Lost Dogs Scotland organisation.
