WilloWind Energy will hold exhibitions next week for proposed plans to construct a new wind farm on land to the North East of Glenluce in Dumfries and Galloway.
The exhibitions will be held on Monday, June 23 in Glenluce Public Hall from 12-6pm, Tuesday, June 24 in New Luce Public Hall and Wednesday, June 25 in St Cowan’s Hall, Kirkcowan, both from 2pm to 8pm.
The proposed development, Gass Wind Farm, is approximately 8km North East of Glenluce and 12km West of Newton Stewart and is expected to consist of nine turbines, each with a rated power of 2.3 MW of electricity, giving a total capacity of 20.7 MW.
WilloWind says it will provide a community benefit fund amounting to £5,000 for every MW of installed capacity, which in the case of the Gass Wind Farm could amount to in excess of £100,000 per year.
Discussions regarding the distribution of the fund have already been held with local community councils.
