Galloway Pageant date changed

The new committe of the Galloway Pageant in Newton Stewart has decided on a date change for this year’s programme.

Having agreed to reduce the week-long schedule of community events to just three days, the fun was set to happen the second weekend in August to give the committee time to carry out all the organisation required.

However, after learning that this date clashes with several other galas, the committee gave agreed to kick off the fun on Sunday August 20 with the usual sashing of the queen. A baby show and other activities will also be held on the Sunday.

Then there will be a few days before the programme resumes on Thursday July 24, leading on to the crowning of the queen on Saturday July 26.
