Galloway and West Dumfries MSP Alex Fergusson has welcomed changes to the Green Homes Cashback Scheme that could be of considerable benefit in the rural parts of his constituency.
Speaking after receiving confirmation of the changes, Mr Fergusson said: “I have been arguing for years that this scheme should have included households that did not have access to natural gas, as is the case with many homes in Galloway and West Dumfries. Not including these homes made the scheme almost discriminatory in my opinion, so I am more than delighted to welcome the changes that have been made. Those changes include up to £500 cashback for condensing boilers, including LPG and oil fired boilers for the first time. What is more, the scheme is open to all householders for a range of energy efficiency measures.
“I know that these changes will provoke interest from a great many of my constituents, and I would encourage anyone who is interested to contact Home Energy Scotland on 0808 808 2282 for free advice on how they can benefit from this improved scheme.”
