Electric vehicle points unveiled in east of region

Three new publicly-accesible charging points for electric vehicles will be unveiled this week - but none west of Castle Douglas.

Funded by the Scottish Government through Transport Scotland, the points will enable such vehicle owners to recharge their car battery within siz hours.

The three new charging points are at Brooms Road Car Park, Dumfries, and at car parks at Annan and Castle Douglas swimming pools. The charger at Brooms Road is a rapid charger, delivering an 80 percent charge in around 15-20 minutes. The charger at Annan is a fast charger, delivering a full charge in around three hours, while the standard charger at Castle Douglas will deliver a full charge in around 6 hours.
